A spicy dry rub is a great way to add lots of flavor with no calories to your grilled favorites. Rub it on steak, chicken, or pork (with dash of oil to keep it from sticking) before grilling.
2 TBL. paprika
2 tsp. ground cumin
2 tsp. chili powder
1 TBL. ground coffee
2 tsp. Ground black pepper
1 TBL. brown sugar
1/2 TBL. kosher salt
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Place all the ingredients in a glass jar and shake until combined. This rub can last for 3 months in your spice drawer or kitchen cabinet.
To use, put 1 or 2 tablespoons into a small bowl. Sprinkle on your raw meat or poultry, drizzle with vegetable oil and rub thoroughly. Grill!
