Pure Barre in Westport w/my fave instructor Lauren

I wanted to introduce you to my new obsession; Pure Barre.  I am addicted to the “lift, tone and burn”. I first started hearing about this exercise from my sisters in Boston, who were raving about the results they were seeing. So when Pure Barre recently opened in Westport, I wanted to see what all the buzz was about.

Yowza! What a workout!

The method is deceivingly simple, small movements to muscle fatigue. Simple, but not easy! This class will kick your butt, in a good way. According to the studio, it is “a total body workout fusing elements of ballet, pilates and strength training in a 55 minute intense session.”

 Intense is the operative word.

As challenging as the class is, anyone can do it. The movements are easy to perform. And don’t be put-off by the ballet bar surrounding the room, you do not have to be a former dancer to participate . In fact, you don’t even have to be outrageously coordinated. The classes follow a simple structure of exercises all performed on a carpeted floor. No jarring movements here. And at Pure Barre in Westport, all of the instructors are super helpful, giving clear directions and gently moving your body into alignment if necessary.

So if you are looking for something new to shake the body up a bit, this is it. I encourage you to check out their website at Westport@purebarre.com and their New Client Special.Or call 203-557-TONE.

Give it a try, and then give me a shout out and let me know what you think!
