There’s been a shift in the air. Can you feel it?

My email has been bursting with appointment requests.

It’s the start of a new season; and just as the leaves are turning, you should be turning over a new leaf as well.

Instinctively most people will feel the need for change after a long, fun-filled summer.

Fortunately one simple, inexpensive tool can get you motivated and moving forward right away.

A notebook.

Huh?

Just as students everywhere are gearing up for new assignments, you have an assignment as well; to be the best you can be.

So grab a new notebook and formulate a plan for the upcoming months. After all, the holidays are right around the corner.

First, check in with yourself and notice what feels off balance.

If too much alcohol, iced mocha lattes, and sweets have crept in, it may be time to hit the re-set button and detoxify your body.

If fast foods have been your warm weather go to’s, start bringing in the clean eats. Whole, fresh, unprocessed choices should be your new normal.

Haven’t been to the gym since June? It’s time to recommit by finding a new exercise/sport, or just renewing your membership again.

Here are a few suggestions you can put on those beautifully clean pages:

Track your food for one week or beyond. The very act of writing down what you are eating will bring your attention immediately to what needs to be changed.

Record your weight, or take your measurements over a period of time. What gets measured gets managed, and seeing tangible changes will keep you motivated to continue.

Create an exercise routine you can stick with. Aim to improve your time, increase your weights, up your reps, etc. For each session write down how you improved and how you felt. Nothing feels better than strong and healthy.

And lastly, have a section for motivation. What motivates you to be the best you can be? Pictures, quotes, mantras, etc. When you feed your mind positive thoughts and images, your world will reflect this back to you.

So as the leaves start to fall, and the weather gets cooler, gather your energy and change with the season.

Turn over a new leaf, and turn the page on a new chapter of your amazing life.

  1. Love it Annette! I often can get a renewed sense of motivation from little things I like, like you and your notebooks!
    I’ll buy a little throw rug and all of a sudden the kitchen has to get cleaned! Lol.
    So…I understand the concept. I just can’t think of a new motivation for the few pounds I am struggling with the crept back. Like three or so. Not too bad but totally in need of a “notebook”!!

    • Yes Deb, grab a new notebook and start writing things down. You will be amazed at how much you will learn.
