This is that time of year when things start slipping. The good eating habits have been taken over by too many BBQ’s, too many fruity tropical drinks, and minimal exercise. It truly is the lazy, hazy days of summer.
You might be thinking it’s time to rope it in since your pants are getting tighter, your energy is lagging, and you are starting to feel a general discomfort within your body.
So you resolve to turn things around tomorrow, and then the next day, and the day after that… but the weeks go by and you just can’t bring yourself to do what needs to be done. Why?
Because wishing won’t make it so.
The day you decide “enough is enough” is the day you need a solid plan.
Maybe your plan is to wait until September 1st, and then take action. Fine.
Whatever it is, the steps need to be crystal clear.
When I work with clients, I want specifics. If you tell me you will exercise three days this week, I want to know the days, the time, and exactly which exercises you are going to do. This makes it easier to take the necessary actions.
Don‘t flounder in uncertainty.
Without a concrete plan, tomorrow will be exactly like today.
Choose three specific things you can do to get back on track. Maybe it’s 1.) Only have my fruity drinks one night on the weekends, 2.) Every Tuesday and Thursday I will ride my bike for 30 minutes first thing in the morning, 3.) For every BBQ I attend until the end of the summer, I will skip the chips. Voila! A plan. And you, my friend, are back in business!
When that little voice inside of you is telling you “it’s time”, it is.
So choose your steps, and begin. Start by writing down 3 things you can do below in the comments.
