Life is full of choices. On any given day we make hundreds, if not thousands of choices about the foods we eat, and how we will treat our bodies. Do I eat this or that for breakfast? Should I workout today? Is this Boston Crème Pie moving me further or closer to my goal? While these questions are small, they have a cumulative effect on your day and your life! The right choice pushes you one way; the wrong choice could put you in a place you really don’t want to be.
Look at your life right now. It is a direct reflection of all the choices you have ever made. In fact, look at your body; it is a product of any food you have ever eaten.
If you can step away from the big picture, and focus instead on the moments, you will see what really moves success forward. For instance, if I wake up in the morning and choose to do a quick workout, then choose to drink a large glass of water, and choose a healthy breakfast before I leave the house, this sets me up to have a great day. On the flip side, if I keep turning the alarm clock off, if I am running late and miss my workout, if I grab a coffee and a bagel before I get on the train, if, if, if…… Can you see the outcome of this? For some of us, this is how we choose to live our lives.
So starting now, I am going to ask you to pay attention to every choice that comes your way. Don’t just live your life on autopilot. Realize these moments to moments will make a real difference in whether or not you reach your goals, or are living the life you were meant to live.
Remember, if you are trying to lose weight, or get in shape, or just get a grip on life in general, never underestimate the power of one. One person. One moment. One choice.
