What Does the Nutritionist Eat?
By Annette Alfieri · September 12, 2011 · Dieting Healthy Eating Nutrition Weight Loss · Leave a commentEvery once in a while I have a client who turns the tables on me. You see, I have all of my clients and class participants keep a food log for the duration of the time I am working with them. I do this for two reasons. One reason is to make them aware of all the mindless eating that happens in a day. The second reason, is so I can shape my clients eating habits in a way that works for them and their lifestyle.
Recently during one of my classes when I was explaining the food logs, one of my clients boldly asked, “What do you eat?” Great question!
So here is a day in the life of this nutritionist:
Saturday 9/10/11
8:00AM – 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (Chobani) with a small sliced banana and a handful of Kashi Go Lean Cereal sprinkled on top. 1 glass plain water.
11:00AM – 2 flounder filets, green beans with oil & garlic (leftovers from last night’s dinner), 1 chopped tomato with a drizzle of EVOO and sea salt, ½ an orange. 1 glass plain water.
2:00PM – ½ turkey sandwich (6 thin slices of turkey) on whole wheat with a smear of hummus, 2 thin slices of avocado and roasted red antipasto peppers. 1 glass plain water.
5:00PM – Protein shake (Designs for Health Whey Cool Vanilla) with 1 cup skim milk.
7:30PM – (Out to dinner)
Handful edamame and a small salad to start (Asian dressing). 2 salmon/avocado rolls. Few chunks of watermelon. 1 glass plain water. 1 cup green tea (plain).
